Carers Trust developed the Triangle of Care for Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services (CYP MHS) to help mental health professionals in CYP MHS to be better able to identify, understand and support unpaid carers.
The core principles of the Triangle of Care are that carers, people who use services, and professionals should work in equal partnership to promote safety, support recovery, and sustain wellbeing. This provides a framework for CYP MHS professionals to achieve cultural change within their organisation in how they work with, and are informed by, carers and families of the children and young people they support.
